About me
Douglas Pitzer is the Founder and Educational Director of Strokes of Genius, LLC and creator of the Immersive Literacy Learners Program (ILLP), a platform integrating literacy instruction with AI, coding, and immersive environments for middle school students in the Roanoke region. His flagship implementation, the Immersive Literacy Learning Lab, has already run 7th graders through a five-week hands-on curriculum covering coding, Scratch, and robotics, and is now being developed further as a formal EdTech platform through a Harvard capstone partnership.Fresh is a PhD student at Virginia Tech, where his dissertation examines technological literacy disparities and the impact of AI, machine learning, and immersive spaces on community literacy; research that grounds his broader work preparing the next generation for post literacy. He also serves as President of Blacks in Technology for Southwest Virginia and manages the Neighbors Advocacy Council for Feeding Southwest Virginia and speaks regularly on panels focused on technology advocacy and community empowerment.
